Greg Flores- President
A Del Rio native, Gregorio "Greg" Flores graduated in 2008 from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Management. In 2012, Greg received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) with honors, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. Greg returned home to Del Río to serve his community and opened up his own law office in 2018.
Felix Escobedo- Vice President
Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Integrative medicine. Graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2013. After gaining experience and training in San Antonio, Tx for the past 2.5 years, is choosing to return to his hometown to help increase the health locally. Small business owner focusing on the use of nutraceuticals and CBD products. Father of three. Member of the newly formed San Fe warriors fighting to keep the last remaining neighborhood school (Lamar) in the San Felipe barrio open. Last but not least, A DRUMMER
Darlene Quintero- Treasure
Darlene is an educator and forever-student inside the classroom and within the community. Her love of spellbinding literature and creative writing inspired her to pursue and obtain a Master's degree in English from Sul Ross State University in 2017. Her most recent role as an English instructor at Southwest Texas Junior College allows her to foster effective and critical readers and writers at the college, professional, and personal level. Additionally, she is a sponsor for The Creative Arts Club, which allows her to guide students through their college, community, and creative experiences. Lastly, she is a needlework artist who incorporates storytelling into her stitches, and she plans on teaching an embroidery and creative writing workshop.
Rita Rosales- Secretary
Rita is not just the real estate broker and owner of THE PROPERTY SHOP. She is a caring, attentive business professional. As a Del Rio resident, Rita prides herself on our beautiful community and cares about all her clients. Rita earned her license through San Antonio Board of Realtors in 2006, is a member of the National Association of REALTORS, Texas Association of REALTORS, Del Rio Board of Realtor, and has served as a Board Director and Chairperson of the Education Committee.
Haydee Gonzalez
She’s been a daughter and a sister for 42 years, 11 of those as a mother, 4 as a family member of Casa De la Cultura and 17 of those years were spent as an active duty member in the Air Force. Haydee has a degree in Public Health and is currently the Medical Standard Manager at the 47th Clinic on Laughlin AFB.
Peter Ojeda
Peter is the Media Coordinator for San Felipe Del Rio CISD. His position allows him work in both a public outreach role as well as the management of a recently renovated public performance theater in historic downtown Del Rio, The Student Performance Center. In 2018 he began his role as President of the City of Del Rio Parks Board where he aims to expand and improve existing park facilities that will improve the quality of life for the community. He is also active in the community by serving on a local committee that raises funds for Muscular Dystrophy and also volunteering his time to the local Miss Del Rio pageant as a host for the event that raises money for scholarships. In his free time, he enjoys reconnecting with nature at state and national parks.
Ralph Flores
A third generation digestive disorder sufferer. His grandmother died at a very early age of multiple digestive issues and mother is showing the same symptoms. Ralph has under gone multiple surgeries to try to stop his illness. Through his research he has found a diet that has kept the heartburn, ulcers in check. His Focus and passion now is finding ways to grow healthy foods with little input. With that his mission is to teach the community these ways of growing food to stop our worldwide health crisis. His little boy will not be a fourth generation victim. Ralph has also extended this into the community by building two food trucks and multiple hoop houses to grow local food to include into the recipes.
Cindy Torres Cardenas
Cindy is an educator who is dedicated to improving the educational needs of students with disabilities. Her curiosity for variations in cognitive abilities amongst students led her to pursue a graduate degree. She earned her Master's Degree in Education from Sul Ross State University and gained her certification as an Educational Diagnostician in 2017. Cindy views her role with the local school district as a vital component to identifying students with special needs in our community.
Raul Abrego
Raul, a beacon of sage wisdom within the organization, is a founding member of the Casa de la Cultura. After working for forty years as a train conductor for Union Pacific, Raul remains active with the youth program teaching community members of all ages the works within the community garden. With his newfound leisure time, Raul has begun to revisit his Lowrider roots by restoring vehicles.
